African Zephyr

African Zephyr™ (Please Call us for Availability)

Since our introduction of the 20-bore Zephyr™, many of our customers have indicated an interest in a rifle of larger bore more suited to the taking of the dangerous game to be found on the African and Asian continents.

It has been our pleasure to develope and now offer to our esteemed clientele an 8-bore African version which has been christened the "African Zephyr™."

Like its predecessor, the African is based upon our very refined underhammer design and features our Genuine Forsyth Rifling™ which provides magnum-like ballistics to the round ball projectile.

The African also features our exclusive Dual-Cap Ignition™ system wherein two musket caps, placed side-by-side, are fired simultaneously to provide greater assurance of ignition of the 300-grain charges that the Africans are capable of digesting.

In order to create a short, fast-handling rifle with sufficient weight and shotgun-like balance, the African Zephyr™ sports a tapered octagon barrel with a new and unique configuration which is wider than it is tall. The "wide-body" barrel, in combination with the wasp-waist receiver, makes the African sleek, efficient and perfectly balanced.

Sights consist of a caterpillar front bead of .090-inch diameter and a fixed blade with "U" notch at the rear mounted on a full-length rib.

Stocks are of fine English walnut and wear a smooth shotgun plate which is casehardened in colours to match the tastefully engraved receiver. The barrel of the African features a beautiful, though subtle, Damascus finish with legend and calibre markings being gold-filled. Hammer, trigger, mainspring and all screws are fire-blued to a deep cobalt blue colour. Instructions, bullet moulde, powder measure, nipple wrench and sling hook are also included.

The African Zephyr™ represent the ultimate in percussion reliability and performance for hunting any game, anywhere. Price is $2750.
